Popis / Abstract
The main goal of the paper is to identify the position of Slovakia in the European area in terms of mortality from cancer and selected groups of cancer analyzed in the LISPER project (malignant tumors of the colorectum, lung and breast). For this purpose, standardized crude mortality rates were constructed. The obtained results showed that the position of Slovakia in terms of the intensity of mortality from tumors in general, as well as on selected groups of cancer is not favorable. The only exception was lung cancer in women. The lag was identified not only behind the countries with the best mortality rates in these groups of causes of death, but the results also showed a lag behind the EU27 average.
