Popis / Abstract
In order to analyse energy savings potential and possible low-energy futures in the building sector, there must be a strong base of data on building stock in the country. The goal of the article is to summarize the data on final energy consumption in the residential and non-residential buildings in Slovakia, compare the national and European statistical data, identify the differences and gaps and provide recommendations. The methodology consists of data collection and comparison of national official and European database IDEES. The comparison shows that although the data from both data sets is mostly in line for the household sector, there are significant discrepancies in the services sector. Based on this comparison several corrections have been made in the national statistics. In both data sources there are still gaps that require better monitoring, especially in terms of renewable sources of energy in both residential and non-residential sector.
